Disciplines

 

Dressage - Encouraging Members to improve their riding by acquiring and establishing an independent seat, and a true knowledge of the aids

 

Eventing - gives Pony Club Members a competition which needs courage, determination and all-round riding ability requiring careful and systematic training of the horse.

 

Mounted Games - very fast games. They require a high degree of athletic ability, good riding skills, hand-to-eye coordination, determination, perseverance, and a competitive spirit, which nevertheless requires an ability to work together with other riders and a willingness to help one another

 

Polocrosse - As the name itself implies, polocrosse is a combination of polo and lacrosse. It is played on horseback, each team with 6 riders that use a cane stick, with a loose twisted-thread net, to carry and pass the ball and score goals.

 

Pony Racing - There are three types of Pony Racing:- Pony Club Race Days Point to Point Fixtures Racecourse Series

 

Show Jumping - provides an opportunity for all Branches interested in Show Jumping to compete against each other and to encourage a high standard of riding

 

Tetrathlon - Based on the Olympic Modern Pentathlon in association with the Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain
