Reports
Hi All
Well Sunday 12th June for those of you sensible people who were huddled
up at home inside, comfortable and warm!!! We were seriously jealous for
us hardened Eventers were out in the worst weather ever getting
absolutely soaked, I can honestly say it’s the wettest we have ever
been, our knickers were drenched too!! Not a pretty sight!!
However we had a little Mini Mini Team out of:-
Maddison Peries
Lucas Peries
Megan Hodgson
Maddison and Megan did very respectable dressage tests, both had a bit
of trouble in the show jumping however it was extremely wet and slippery
causing lots of problems and then both did well xc with Maddison just
having one stop and Megan doing brilliantly at her first Event!
Lucas did extremely well having endured the dressage which is always his
hard bit that he doesn’t enjoy, he followed it with an outstanding
double clear in the horrendous conditions to come a fantastic 8th!
Brilliant.
In the Mini Class we had:-
Rachel Chambers
Nicole Wilson
At this point I have to say the weather was unbelievably bad however
unstoppable were our members at proving we can produce fab results
regardless, we ploughed on!!!
Rachel on Chancy did a fab dressage of 30.8 followed by a fantastic
double clear to come 2nd in her section, in the conditions it was
amazing and very well deserved.
Nicole did a well presented test gaining 35 which was good for her and
Bob as it isn’t always their best bit, unfortunately they just rolled a
pole for 4 penalties which was still very good as the going in the show
jumping was very bad. They completed a fab clear xc though that secured
them a great 4th Place also an outstanding result!!
We then had in the final class:-
Claudia Carey-Yard
Camilla Cox
The wind had now gathered some pace and the rain was incessantly pouring
and yes we were wondering what on earth are we doing here!!! But that
saying we are here so we will carry on and so we did!! Just as well as
the girls never let us down!
Claudia did a lovely little test in the horrendous conditions to produce
a very respectable 35 followed by a double clear and a fabulous 4th
Place.
Camilla also produced a nice tidy test to also gain a 35 in her section,
then a lovely clear as Claudia in the show jumping which was a great
achievement as they needed waders in the warm up and ring by the time
they went but both horses never flinched over the conditions. Again
Camilla rode a text book xc to come a fantastic 1st Place!!! Full marks
for having stuck at it and gaining a very well deserved result.
To all of you out that day, you deserved a medal as they are the worst
conditions we have ever had I think, but what was so fantastic is how
well our horses and riders did regardless of that, it seemed to make no
difference to them which proves how well all their training has been
going and the confidence and trust in their partnerships shone through.
Congratulations to all of you I hope this inspires others to follow in
your foot steps, you were great ambassadors for our Club!!
Thank you Karen
